Outdoor Show Hosts over Fifty Free Seminars and Demos Jan. 25-27

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Outdoor experts will provide a wide array of tips, techniques and instruction during the annual Outdoor Sports, Lake & Cabin Show Jan. 25-27 at Fort Wayne’s Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave.
Seminar topics include: Firearm Safety, Archery Shooting Tips, Salmon & Trout Fishing on Lake Michigan, Bait & Techniques for Coho on Lake Michigan, Tactics for River Steelhead, Bait Caster Reel Instruction, Managing You and Your Property for Big Bucks, Boating Safety, Prepping Your Bike for the Season, Morel Mushroom Hunting Secrets, Wildlife Photography, Selecting Your Hunting Retriever, Bird Dog – Selection & Training, Zoo Animals Come to You, Hands on with Wild Animals, Knowing Your Body & Knowing Nutrition, Design Inspiration of a Historic Indiana Cabin, Selecting Your Log Home Package, Log Home Care & Maintenance, Dream to Reality-Steps to Building a Log Home.
Seminars take place throughout the weekend, and are free to show goers with show admission.
Cost is $10 for adults, and children 12 and under are free. General show admission is valid throughout the entire weekend.
In addition, over 150 exhibitors will span 108,000 square-feet of the Coliseum offering show-only bargains, and the opportunity to compare, test and purchase thousands of top-quality products and services in the following categories: Biking, Hiking, Camping and Fitness, Hunting and Fishing, Boats and Water Sports, Vacation and Travel, RVs and Motor Sports and Cottage Living.
STIHL Timberworks Lumberjack Shows seen on ABC’s Wide World of Sports, Discovery Channel’s The Travelers and MTV’s The Real World and Road Rules, is the newest addition to the show set to entertain audiences with daily performances filled with axe throwing, chopping, log rolling, cross cut sawing, hot sawing and chainsaw carving.
Performance times are 2, 5 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25; 11:30 a.m., 4 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26; and noon and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27.
A special amateur competition will feature Curtis Smith, chief meteorologist for ABC-21Alive and NBC33, and sportscaster Tommy Schoegler, along with Fort Wayne Fire Department firefighters at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Other special features and attractions include a new indoor air rifle shooting range and Harley-Davidson simulator, 400 square-foot indoor beach and duck pond, 25,000-gallon canoe and kayak lagoon, 40-foot fishing and hunting video game arcade, fully furnished oak cabin for sale, hourly giveaways, exotic animals and much more.
Ducks Unlimited will host a duck calling competition for youth 17 and under at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26 to see who can produce the best quack. No pre-registration required.
Fishing contests for children 12 and under will be held at the show’s two stocked fishing ponds 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. Live bait and fishing poles will be provided.
Fort Wayne Gander Mountain and Dick’s Sporting Goods stores, as well as Ehlerding Motorsports have $3 discount coupons leading up to the show. Coupons are also available on the show’s website.
Guests attending the Mizpah Shrine Circus Jan. 24-27 can receive $2 off admission by presenting a ticket stub; valid with no other combined offers.
Some of many sponsors presenting various features throughout the show include Ehlerding Motorsports, Dick’s Sporting Goods, RV Center, Gander Mountain, WLDE, WAJI, WOWO, Rock104, K105 and 106.7 The Fan. All attendees receive a free subscription to Log Cabin Homes magazine.
Show hours are Friday, noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
